    Cranberry and Stripes

Now that school is over and I have more free time on my hands, I’ve been doing a lot of planning for an eventual reworking of this blog. To start with, I’m hoping to implement three weekly series that will be posted on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The first of these, posted at on Mondays, will be my outfit posts (the name of which I am changing to “Worn:”) — nothing too different there. The second will be a series I’m calling “Elevenses” (posted on Wednesdays at 11 a.m.), and the third will be a series I’m calling “Catholicism Unwrapped” (posted on Fridays). I’ve been dressing a little simpler recently…

    Cozy in Spring

The weather has been so back and forth here recently. One day it will be in the 90s, the next it will be pouring down rain! For those cooler days, I’ve been layering my sundresses. That way, I can stay cozy, but still feel like it’s spring. Rain is my favorite type of weather, and I’m not huge on the heat, so honestly, I don’t mind. Cranberry Florals

I’m not gonna lie, I’m having a love/hate moment with my growing stomach. On one hand, I’ve always thought that baby bumps were adorable. On the other hand, I’m starting to feel a bit whale-ish. Also, while I was prepared for the loss of my waist, for some reason it never occurred to me that I would gain weight everywhere else as well. I’ve definitely been struggling with this a bit (a fact my husband can attest to), but I’m trying not to let it bother me too much. Being healthy and gaining weight to support the baby is so much more important! Mostly, I’m sharing this because I want…

Owl Earrings and a Floral Skirt

I’ve been away from this blog for quite some time. Mostly, it’s because I’ve been busy with other projects. First school, and now my book. But I’ll be honest. Partly, it’s because of procrastination and poor time management.  I’m back though, and I’ve got some plans to hopefully make this blog better than ever. I have no plans of abandoning Clothed in Sunlight any time soon! Today’s modest outfit is a new favorite of mine. I’ve been looking for a skirt like this for a while now, so I was really excited when I found this one at Forever 21 for just under twenty dollars. I love the cut of this skirt–big and voluminous…

    A Hint of Spring

The first day of spring was nearly two weeks ago (March 20th), and yet somehow I woke to find snow on the ground this morning. After walking twenty minutes across campus to my first class, I was shocked to find that my hair had frozen stiff. Needless to say, I was glad to get inside the warm classroom — even if it meant admitting to myself that Spring Break is truly over. Despite uncooperative weather, spring is in the air. Birds are singing, flowers are poking through the grass, and the sun’s rays almost feel warm against my back. So, in spirit of the season, today’s outfit is inspired by…

    Neutrals with a Pop

For this week’s modest fashion inspiration, I chose to put together something a little bit different. I rarely tuck things in — I feel like it makes my hips look too wide — but I decided to give tucking a shot with this simple grey top. And you know what? I think I like it! I felt very “Parisian,” in this ensemble — probably because I tied my scarf around my neck like a silk neck-tie. Brian even complemented the look when I came downstairs!

    Boots and a Skirt

For this week’s modest fashion inspiration, I chose to wear a pair of timberland boots, paired with a floral skirt and chambray shirt. I do not have the perfect wardrobe; this particular post is an example of that. There are things I would change if I had the time and knowledge to tailor my clothing, or the money to buy all those “pieces” that many blogger says are such a must. And you know what? That’s okay. Some days, I wake up in the morning and stare at my small collection of skirts, shirts, and jeans and wonder, “what on earth am I going to wear?” But that forces me to…
