September Reading List

I’ve been struggling a bit to keep up with my goal of reading a book a week, in part because I finish one book and don’t have anything lined up next. Then it occurred to me. Why not put together and share a reading list each month? Hopefully, doing so will inspire you to pick up a few more books, and maybe even write a list of your own!

September Reading List

The Great Hunt: The Great Hunt is book two of one of my favorite series of all time. I’m doing an “Elevenses” post about book one soon, and ever since I finished Eye of the World, I’ve been chomping at the bit to read what happens next. I’ve already read some of this series — up to book six I believe — but I’ve never finished it because it is such an undertaking. Now that I have a lot more time on my hands (no more homework!), I think I’ll finally be able to finish the series off.

Caladrius Dreams: Okay, okay. It might seem a bit odd that I’m putting my own book on my reading list, but I have a good reason! Honestly, while working on book two I’ve found that I am struggling a bit to remember exactly what happened in book one — which is important for obvious reasons. I’ve been putting off a re-read for awhile now, but I need to just sit down with my first book and read it all the way through before I keep writing. I figured adding this to my reading list would help me find the time to actually sit down and give it a read. Of course, if you wanted to pick up a copy and follow along, I wouldn’t complain!

Anne of Green Gables: I’ve been seeing a lot of people picking this one up lately, probably because of the new Netflix series, and it’s really gotten me in the mood to re-read it myself. For me, re-reading a book feels like curling up with an old friend — in fact, I generally enjoy the second, third, and tenth times through more than I do the first! Besides, something about this time of year is so enchanting, it just seems right to give Anne another go. We are kindred spirits after all!

Dark Whispers: Dark Whispers is book three of the Unicorn Chronicles, and if you’ve read my “Elevenses” post about the first two books in this series, you’ll know why I’m so excited to pick this book up. I’m going to have to do a bit of hunting to track it down, but after more than a decade of waiting, I am more than ready to finally know what happens next!

Do you have a reading list for this month? Have you read (or would like to read) any of the books listed above? Let me know in the comment section below. Let’s talk!
