Cranberry and Stripes

Now that school is over and I have more free time on my hands, I’ve been doing a lot of planning for an eventual reworking of this blog. To start with, I’m hoping to implement three weekly series that will be posted on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The first of these, posted at on Mondays, will be my outfit posts (the name of which I am changing to “Worn:”) — nothing too different there. The second will be a series I’m calling “Elevenses” (posted on Wednesdays at 11 a.m.), and the third will be a series I’m calling “Catholicism Unwrapped” (posted on Fridays).

I’ve been dressing a little simpler recently because most of my clothes are still in boxes, but I still really like the contrast of this cranberry top with my navy striped maxi skirt. To be honest, I wasn’t originally planning on wearing this combo but Brian had on a navy striped polo and he thought it would be cute if we matched. It worked out perfectly!

Living with almost everything we own packed up in boxes for the past couple weeks has really forced an interesting outlook on life. It has made me more aware of my time and of how dependent I am on “things” to keep me entertained. I mean, what do you do when you’ve become sick of reading and surfing the web and it’s too hot to go outside and explore?

While I’m looking forward to the time when we can finally unpack, I’m also hoping to come to see this time as a blessing and a learning experience. Instead of giving in to boredom, I hope that I can use this time to relax and think outside the box — literally.
