Cranberry Florals

I’m not gonna lie, I’m having a love/hate moment with my growing stomach. On one hand, I’ve always thought that baby bumps were adorable. On the other hand, I’m starting to feel a bit whale-ish. Also, while I was prepared for the loss of my waist, for some reason it never occurred to me that I would gain weight everywhere else as well. I’ve definitely been struggling with this a bit (a fact my husband can attest to), but I’m trying not to let it bother me too much. Being healthy and gaining weight to support the baby is so much more important!

Mostly, I’m sharing this because I want you to know that if you are pregnant (or become pregnant someday) that you are not alone. Never forget that you are beautiful, that weight gain during pregnancy is healthy and normal, and that struggling with it is normal as well. Just take a deep breath, thank God for the beautiful gift he’s given you and try your best to focus on the positive.

IMG_8397 These cranberry colored, cigarette-style pants are quickly becoming my favorites. They actually aren’t maternity pants — I got them last summer to wear at a dog show and later for school — but they are so comfy and cute. They have an elastic waistline, which is why I’m still able to get away with wearing them. I think they come in several other colors, and I’m seriously considering picking up a few more pairs.

The shirt you see here isn’t actually a shirt at all and honestly, it’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made because it is so darn versatile. Here’s the secret — this shirt is actually a dress. Put on a pair of pants and bunch up the bottom however, and no one would ever know! The funny thing is, I actually hesitated to buy it because I don’t normally like tight “body-con” style dresses. Brian talked me into it because I liked the floral pattern so much, and I’m so glad he did. Thanks dear! This one is fairly modest because of the high-neckline and the long sleeves. It’s also roughly knee length, when pulled down as a dress. I mostly wear it as a shirt, but I’ve styled it as a dress a few times for more formal events.
