Holiday Casual
Brian and I went down to the park before Thanksgiving dinner to take pictures for the blog. I wore a deep maroon party dress I picked up at the Goodwill for 15 dollars several years back. Under it I layered a cream lace crop top—a trend which is inherently immodest, but can be made modest with a little bit of creativity. To make my attire slightly less formal, I wore one of my husband’s button up shirts on top, and tied it at the waist. I wanted something dressy enough for a holiday, but casual enough for the laid-back family environment I celebrated it in. Holiday casual, I guess I could call it. Keeping with the casual feel, I paired my ensemble with my lace-up paddock boots and some wool socks.
Of course, after we had taken the pictures, we couldn’t resist playing around!

Get the Look
It looks like Target doesn’t carry my lace crop top anymore. This top on Amazon looks similar, but I don’t know what the quality is like on it. See similar top here.
My mom got these socks for me at Costco. They are so warm and cozy! Same socks here.
The dress I have is R & M Richards. I can’t find the same or similar anywhere online, but it may be possible to find something similar in a thrift store or regular store.
Any plain chambray shirt would work for this look. I don’t currently own a chambray shirt (which is why I borrowed my husband’s), but I think that a more fitted version would work just as well or better than this one.
